Pardon Our Appearance

We apologize for some of the additional noise and appearance of our office during the next few weeks. We are repainting the office during off-hours, replacing the flooring, creating a larger laboratory space for our medical assistants, and adding two more exam rooms to permit our office flow to move more smoothly. When completed, we hope you will find the office to not only be nicer in appearance, but more "user friendly" as well.

Happy Birthday to Us!!!

It has been two years now since we opened for business. Our staff has grown. The children we care for have grown (older at least). We have done our best to make Peds First remain true to our mission of providing each family with the best care possible while retaining a premier level of customer service. We appreciate all the families that have entrusted us to date, and look forward to many more years of serving you.

School and Camp Physicals

We have begun to receive requests for annual well visits, many of which are required for camp and school attendance. If you know that your child will be requiring such a visit this Spring or Summer, please try to schedule your appointment soon in order to ensure that we can accommodate everyone as smoothly as possible. We will do whatever we can to ensure every child is appropriately scheduled for all necessary testing, vaccinations, examinations, and counseling for their respective needs. 'Last minute' appointments of this nature are often difficult to schedule conveniently, and we do not ever wish to make you or your child feel rushed at such visits. When you schedule your child's visit, if you are aware of a significant issue that you wish to discuss with the doctor at that visit (ie: ADHD), please advise the staff when scheduling in order that an appropriate time period is allotted to address your concerns.

A Warm Welcome to Dr. Karen Lee

Peds First welcomes Dr. Karen Lee to our staff of physicians. She completed her residency in 2009 at Stony Brook where we had the pleasure of getting to know her as being among their best physicians. Dr. Lee attended medical school at SUNY Buffalo and prior to that earned her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. Her warm and personable demeanor combined with excellent training in Pediatrics makes her a perfect addition to our staff.

Lots of New Faces for Everyone!

We warmly welcome Dr. Kumar Madom and Dr. Santiago Wong to Peds First along with the families for which they have been caring for over the last 30 years. Both Dr. Madom and Dr. Wong will be seeing patients in our Medford office on a part-time basis. We understand that this is a big transition for the doctors and the families they care for. We will do our best to make the transition as smooth as possible for all. If any families would like to schedule a visit to see the new office location and meet the staff, we are happy to oblige. To all families we already know and love, don't worry! We maintain our commitment to offer top tier medical care with the personal touch you have come to expect. If there are any problems you are encountering during this expansion, please speak with Dr. Halegoua, Dr. Nastasi, or Stacey Lacarrubba so that we can immediately work towards rectifying the issue.

Flu shots have arrived. As we posted previously, we have ordered enough to provide flu shots for parents and caretakers as well. We will be able to accommodate people on a same day basis, but please call for an appointment time so that we may continue to keep office flow as smooth as possible.

Peds First Pediatrics Celebrates Its Six Month Anniversary

Time flies It feels like yesterday that we first opened our doors to the community. To date, we feel we have delivered all we aimed to, but will continue to attempt to improve our level of service. Our transition to the world of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is nearly complete. We are implementing some of the final phases of the transition over the next few weeks. We hope that much of this transition will not be noted by the patients and their families, but will be enabling our staff to communicate better with each other during visits. For example, the doctors will be able to advise the medical assistants as to which vaccines will be required so that they can be working on preparation without the doctor having to interrupt the visit by leaving the room. One feature of the final phase that will be quite visible regards our Patient Portal. Connexin Software, the software developer of our EMR, is hoping to have to Portal completed by May. It will enable parents to log into their children's accounts to access information, and make various requests.

The award is based upon reviews of patients from a broad collection of sources. Physicians are rated based on their bedside manner, doctor-patient face time, degree of follow-up, courtesy of office staff, and overall patient opinions. We aim to continue to provide premier service at Peds First, and as always, we thank you for your support.
